Wonderful fine porcelain china features the stamp for Phillips London, a leading retailer of Minton (as well as Royal Worcester and Wedgwood) at the time. All of the pieces are decorated with a gold Greek Key design and additionally each piece is marked with a really nice armorial crest. Surely the set was produced for a family with status. Included are 9 pieces. Four plates measuring approximately 9″ in diameter, two 9 1/2″ in diameter, one 11″ in diameter and a large open serving bowl measuring 9 3/4″ in diameter and 5 1/4 tall. There’s also an underplate measuring 12 from handle to handle. Interestingly, the plates do not have a traditional rimmed base but are flattened on the bottom. There’s also gold trim on the bottom. They sit well and would be fine to eat from but given the odd sizing and unusual bases which would sit securely in a hand it seems likely that they are serving pieces. There’s a bit of gold trim wear but otherwise I see no chips, cracks, or repairs. Please take a look at the pictures and let me know if you have any questions at all. Also, a note to overseas buyers.
