What you see is what you get, one. RS Prussia China Floral Gold Trim Plate Dish. Measuring 6 in diameter. This is in great condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, or crazing. The gold rim is intact and complete with minor signs of wear. There is some other wear to the flowers (see pics 1&12). Still, it is a beautiful & rare piece from one of Germany’s foremost china producers. I’m not sure how old it is, based on the logo, it has to be between 103 and about 130. The company began operations in the late 1800’s. After World War I, they moved the factory to Tillowitz, which was added to their logo. If you know anything more about this item, please share it with me so I can pass it on to others. For your consideration is a very rare Erdmann Schlegelmilch Chocolate pot and four (4) cups decorated with mythological figures. The portraits are Angelica Kauffmann scenes from transfers and are all signed A. Kauffmann except the chocolate pot. There is only one (1) saucer which accompanies the set. The colors are rich cranberry, emerald green and gold. The triangular designs and framing around the portraits are decorated with an intricate gold beading. The finial and handles are all rich gold color. The chocolate pot measures 8-3/4 from the base to the top of the finial and is approximately 5-1/2 at its widest point. The cups stand 3 tall and are 2 wide at the rim. The condition is very good used. There are no chips, nicks, scratches or repairs. There are degrees of loss to the gold gilding consistent with age. One cup shows more wear to the gold decorations than the other three. The under stamp is the Prov. Prussia, Mary Frank Gaston, pages 203, 204, 215-216. Antique RS GERMANY PRUSSIA Berry Bowl Gold Trim BLUE MARK China PORCELAIN 7pc Lot. This is a Beautiful 7 piece Antique Berry Bowl China Set with Gold Trim and Manufactured by RS Prussia. We are pleased to present you a antique RS Germany berry bowl set for your consideration. The “RS” in RS Prussia is derived from its founder, Reinhold Schlegelmilch. While his factory enjoyed limited success, it was the work of his two sons, Arnold and Ehrhard that would make the mark bearing his initials famous. While Ehrhard continued to operate the factory in Suhl, Arnold went on to found a second factory in nearby Tillowitz. These two operations produced the majority of their products for export beginning in 1892 up until the beginning of World War I. During this period, most of the pieces exported to the United States bore the mark described above, with Prussia in red beneath. In 1910, the Tillowitz factory began using the all-green “RS Germany” mark, and miraculously continued producing fine China through the Second World War. The original factory in Suhl closed down before the First World War ended. This is a 7 piece lot of a berry bowl china manufactured from 1910 to 1915. It is made of beautiful white porcelain with gold trim on its edge. Marked “RS” “Germany” with a wreath and a star in blue color. There is another visible mark of “Germany” on the white porcelain. Measures 5 1/4 inches in diameter and 1 1/8 inches high. Each bowl weighs around 3.2 oz. The china bowl have no cracks, crazing, chips or repair marks. It shows some minor scratches on its top surface from normal use. The scratches are not noticeable until you look closer into it. The gilt on the edge has about 95% remaining. It is overall in very good condition. This will be a perfect addition to your RS Prussia collection and make a great gift to your love one.
