Bodley Hand Painted Aesthetic Gold Gilt Seaweed Bone China Shell Plate Circa 1870s Rare bone china shell shaped shellfish / oyster plate. Decorated in the Aesthetic style with raised brown and gold gilt seaweed. The background is painted in pastel pink, blue, and yellow. Has the pattern number 5 1435 on the reverse and an impressed Bodley mark. This mark was used starting in 1870. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 9 3/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece. (14 Piece) Antique English? Aesthetic Style DESSERT SET w/Gold Encrusted Florals #6908. The pink and brown go so well together and it appears, based on the slight variations. In the flowers, that these may be handpainted. These are very well done with no surface. Unattended – even the rear of the tazza’s and the stems have the same pink/brown rim with. Tiny pink flowers spattered gold flecks and a bouquet of flowers. The plates are unmarked. However the base of each tazza seems to have initials over the numbers. (11) 9 inch DESSERT PLATES with the 3 different floral arrangements seen in photos #6, #7, & #8. There are 3 to 4 in each of the three patterns. (2) Tazza’s that are almost 5 inches tall with a 4.75 inch base and a 9 inch diameter plate on top. (1) Tazza that is 3.375 inches tall and a 9 inch diameter plate on top. Beautiful and unusual antique Minton cup and saucer. Hand painted with many different birds that appear to be standing on a perch inside a cage that is done in raised gold and silver. There is also raised gold beading and a deep maroon center on both pieces. The saucer has the impressed Minton mark and date cypher for 1873 (the tip of the pen is pointing to it in the close up photo). The cup is marked with letters and numbers as shown. The diameter of the saucer is just over 5.25 inches. The cup stands between 2.5 inches and 2.75 inches high. The decoration on both pieces shows little to no wear. There is some fine crazing. The saucer has no chips, cracks, or flea bites. The cup handle has darkened a bit with age and has 2 faint short lines across the handle that are so tight they cannot even be felt.
