This is a set of two antique 10 dinner plates by Rosenthal Bavaria Pickard. The plates feature a floral pattern with antique pheasants and flowers, hand-painted in an Art Nouveau style. They are made of porcelain with 22K gold gilding and were produced in the 1930s. The plates are round in shape and have a glossy finish. They are part of an eight-piece set and bear a painted backstamp.

Max Roesler RMR (Blue Mark) DRESDEN Porcelain Woven Basket w/ Gilt Gold Handle. RMR Woven Basket is in nice condition. Very minor gilt gold loss. Stamped RMR, #1086/3, and Incised Rose Mark. These marks are the. Oldest from the potters work here. Max Roesler was born in 1840 in Regensburg. He studied chemistry in Dresden but finally he graduated in Munich. Max gained experience working for a chemical plant in Blasewitz and in 1864 became a chemist, merchant and technical director at a chemical plant in Elbogen. The change came in 1873 when he became a technical director at the Franz Anton Mehlem stoneware factory in Bonn. In the following year Max Roesler started working for the mosaic tiles factory in Sinzig and months later he bacame a technical and commercial director of the Wächtersbach stoneware factory. In 1890 Roesler moved to the Springer porcelain factories in Elbogen, Bohemia. Finally in 1893 he and his family moved to Rodach near Coburg. Max Roesler founded in Coburg his own earthenware factory in 1894. In 1910, after death of Roesler’s son, the firm was transformed into a public limited company Max Roesler Feinsteingutfabrik AG. Max Roesler died in 1922. In 1938 the company was taken over by Siemens. Max Roesler’s firm used a family coat of arms (a hedge rose) as its emblem. Max Roesler RMR blue rose mark used from 1894.

Lovely hand painted, raised enameled florals in shades of pink, red, blue, purple and yellow. Scalloped gold rim and a basket weave embossed band. Pattern number is 4051. They are marked on back with the pink Minton globe and Caldwell & Co. I believe this mark dates the plates to 1902 to 1911. No chips or cracks. Gold is in very good condition. They do have some light normal wear and light crazing as they are antique plates but overall they display well and are just beautiful for any table setting or cabinet display! Offered is this elegant set of SIX fine porcelain china dinner plates made in England by Minton. The center of each plate features an elaborate hand-painted cluster of Dresden flowers, including roses, tulips and daisies. The artist signature J. Colclough appears near the flowers on each plate. A gold cartouche encircles the blossoms. The plates have wide gold encrusted rims of red or blue. Three plates have red rims and three plates have blue rims. The gilded designs on the rims resemble brocade. The underside base of each plate has been gilded. The mark X1025 appears on the bottom of the plates. The plates measure 10.5 inches in diameter (26.5 cm). Very good used condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. Gold trim in very good condition but does show very slight wear. The item will be insured.
