Antique Collectibles from ShangriLa. 3500 “Make us an offer” Listings/. Antique 18C Plate Qing Chinese Porcelain Chine de Commande Pink Gold. A rare and quality painting plate. It’s a chine de commande dish but unusual because the central painting of a chinese person with a chinese person holding an artifact with a dragon in gilt. He is also holding a ruyi scepter. Very nicely decorated piece with good details. Red, Gold and Pink enamels. 18th century Qing period. Similar dish displayed in the Guangfu Museum Shanhai, check pictures. Rare type of decoration. Dating to around 1760. / / Overall Condition Restored part. These area was also repainted, we removed close to all new painting, now it is fully original. Also 1 more line, a big chip and some chips/fritting. 18th century 19th century Qing (1661 – 1912). We can not control this. For China (& rest of Asia) & US allow at least 2 to 3 weeks. Ecorated in 18th century motifs with an all-over pattern of peony and other. Flowers with grapes and pomegranates on a gold ground. The mille fleur motif is the background for the plate. “Thousand flowers design”, the mille fleur motif, usually on a gilt ground, first. The Double Ram Centred by a Vase within a square mark appears to be the Yang Chen Brand and is mid-century. In “Marks” by William Chaffers there are illustrated a number of animal marks dating roughly from the later Ming dynasty (16th/17th century) through to the 18th century. The point of the animals is that they are considered auspicious, & so bringers of good to the owners of such wares. The plate is 13.5 cm (8.5 inches) by 13.5 cm (8,5 inches) and is 2.5 cm (1 inch) high. Masterfully hand painted English china lady cameo portait signed and titled ” Pomona ” by noted Doulton artist Frank N. Pomona was the Roman goddess of the harvest and fruit pruning especially associated with apples. Heavily gilded and tinted ornate border. Mark dates this piece to circa 1900. Size is about 9-3/4 inches wide. Condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. Only slight wear from gentle l use and minor original clay or glaze flaws as made originally.
