Vintage Reichenbach Fine Porcelain China Set/3-set Serveware With 22K Gold Trim
Vintage Reichenbach Fine Porcelain China Set/3-set Serveware With 22K Gold Trim. This set has been in my family for three generations and part of an estate that I must now part with. The color is a beautiful cobalt blue with an elegant floral design and a hand painted gold rim on each piece. This collection is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or stains and has been maintained with utmost care. This 12-piece set includes. One small serving jar with lid. One large serving jar with lid. One vase (this item was previously used with some wear/scratches on inside bottom of vase, otherwise in excellent condition). Per the Directory of European Porcelain, these pieces were made at the Reichenbach Porcelain Factory, Reichenbach, Thuringia, Germany. The GDR part of the mark is for “German Democratic Republic” (West Germany) which was established in 1949 and ended in 1990. Based on that, any items with this particular mark were made no earlier than 1949 and possibly as late as 1977 when Reichenbach put a different mark into use. The mark on the cobalt blue version on the listed pieces with’Fine China’ and’MADE IN GERMAN DEMOCRATIC REPULIC’ was used between 1968 and 1990. This exquisite porcelain serveware set would be perfect for any elegant setting. It’s history predates the falling of the Berlin wall. This would also make a great gift for the collector of fine china!
