This exquisite plate originates from the Château des Tuileries and has a Sevres 1848 date mark. Decorated with a hand painted Watteau / courting couple scene with a sheep,, castle, and trees. Has a celeste blue border with raised gold scrollwork. Double gold gilding along the edge. Signed by the artist. Has a hand painted blue pseudo Sevres mark on the reverse. Has some scratches and enamel loss to the scene, wear to the gilding, a small gilded over flake to the edge and three chips to the foot rim, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 9 5/8 inches wide. This is antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.

The image of the cherub is sitting on a cloud and surrounded by a rich turquoise color and a deep navy blue border. Excellent condition with no damage or repairs.
