Rare and unusual set of 12 antique plates, origin and maker unknown, and believe me, I have done a lot of research on these! The only marks on the back are a hand-incised “69 A” and a crosshatch mark on a few. My educated guess is that these are either French or German and made to order for a royal or noble-born family, based on the calligraphic monogram on all the plates. The monogram looks to me like “VP” but I will let you be the judge. They have pin marks on the back with prominent feet, so they probably date to the late 19th century. These plates measure 8 1/2″ in diameter so are appropriately called “luncheon plates. They have a gold symbol/ crest in the center of the white floor. The flange is a creamy yellow color and on top of that are gold and white embossed feathery designs, with a thin gold edge and verge. The monogram is at 12:00 at the top of the plates. This is mostly in the center crest and around the verge/ trim. But the monograms have held up well, and there are no other chips or cracks, so these were well-cared for and have a great sense of history. They came from a fine historical estate on the Gold Coast of Long Island. Please feel free to ask any questions or provide any knowledge about these plates if you might be able to help!

RARE Unique W Wawel Dinnerware Porcelain China set Poland 84pcs GOLD RIM. Set of 84 pcs, including. 12 cups with one holder. 11 shallow small shallow bowls. Tall Teapot with cover =2 pcs. Tea pot with cover= 2 pcs. Creamer +1sugar +cover =3 pcs. 2 serving oval platters=2 pcs. 1 round serving bowl plus cover =2 pcs. Salt and pepper sprays: 2 pcs. This mark was used by the Krzysztof Porcelain Factory in Walbrzych, Poland, beginning in 1952. 126 is the number identifying the pattern. The pottery, originally called Krister Porzellan Manufaktur, was founded in 1831 in Waldenburg, Silesia, Germany, by Carl Krister. After World War II, Silesia became part of Poland, the name of the town was changed to Walbrzych, and “Krister” became Krysztof. The porcelain factory was nationalized in 1952 but was privatized again in the late 1990s. The company is still in business. More pictures upon request. Thank you for visiting our store!

Very rare Meissen plate with raised gold floral motif. Gilded in gold and painted in pink around edges and floral decoration around the rim also. Rim also sprayed in gold, and around handles. Carved from inside in shape of flower. It is a very delicate thin porcelain and rings like a bell. Also, beautiful high foot and impressed mark on bottom.

This lot includes a RARE Ardalt-Lenwile Zodiac high-footed cup and saucer, with a STAR center detail. This beautiful black and white cup with thick gilding on the black areas is backstamped in iron-red with the code 6388. This is a lovely gilded black-ware from Japan that is a self reading astrological cup and saucer. The saucer has the twelve zodiac signs and descriptions. The interior of the cup has the Star and starburst design. There are no chips or cracks that I can see. There is one small spot where the gold is missing on the Virgo. The black made have faded a bit on the cup/saucer, I’m not sure. It’s a GREAT cup and saucer for the Astrology, Zodiac or Tarot enthusiast! If you have any questions, just ask!
