VNTG HOMER LAUGHLIN GEORGIAN CHATEAU BLUE SET for 12 SERVEWARE TEAPOT 97 PIECES
Popular in its day and still lovely today, this amazing vintage set is a shining example of Homer Laughlin, Georgian Eggshell, Made in U. This set was produced in 1941. The set was described in an ad of the day: Robin’s egg blue border around white center, inner rim banded with glittering fleur-de-lis of 22K Gold. Bouquet of deep rose, blue, green, 22K Gold edge. Additional research shows the pattern is called Chateau Blue. The teapot is in very good vintage condition (no chips, cracks, or scratches). The lid, with an ornate handle, has an air hole and the inside edge was repaired though it is not noticeable on outside when on teapot and very hard to photograph. The teapot measures 8 1/2″ tall (with lid) and 10 1/4″ across from spout to handle. The lid’s interior show no signs of use. The teapot interior has minor tea stains and there are slight tea stains on the bottom of the pot’s interior, too. The base is marked: Georgian Eggshell Homer Laughlin Made in U. C 41 N 5. The tea cups and saucers are also in very good vintage condition. The teacups measure 2 1/4″ high and 5″ across, including handle. The saucers, also featuring flowers on its center, are marked Georgian Eggshell Homer Laughlin Made in U. One S&P shaker is noticeably repaired. One luncheon plate has a hairline crack that was repaired. The creamer has a crack which does not seem to have broken the core. The rim is perfect. As with vintage pieces, there are a few imperfections in the pattern, e. The pattern stamp is sometimes off the center of the saucers. At more than eighty years old, this set is the Grande Dame of vintage dinnerware, good for show and use and the perfect addition to your collection!
