If I look super close I can see light rubbing to the saucer at a worst….. Tried to get up close in the photos, but these display just great. Saucer is about 5 3/8″ diameter and cup is about 3 1/4″ diameter. Both are marked as shown with one having impressed Wedgwood mark in addition. Four Vintagr Spode Lancaster R8592 English Bone China Gold Gilded 8/20cm Plates. All four plates have been used over the years and they all have signs of wear so please check all 12 photographs carefully. However, none of the plates have any chips or cracks and the gold gilding is generally intact as shown in 12 photographs attached. These were very expensive sought after UK made Spode plates from an era before Spode production moved to the Far East. All plates have been manufactured in the UK. Very rare and sought after plates handmade and hand decorated in the UK. Spode is one of the greatest names of the Industrial Revolution. Josiah Spode I was born in 1733 and after several years working for other local potters, established his own company in 1776 in Church Street, (then known as High Street) Stoke and, like his neighbour and friend Josiah Wedgwood, concentrating on the production of ceramic wares of the finest quality in a variety of bodies. He is particularly recognised as having developed the technique for underglaze transfer printing on earthenware c. 1784 and to have produced the first printed Willow patterns 1784-90s. He focused his attention on the manufacture of porcelain, a technically more difficult but much finer material than he had previously made, introducing in 1796 a new type of porcelain which he first called Stoke China but shortly afterwards renamed Bone China, because of the high proportion of calcined ox-bone in its formula. Josiah Spode I died suddenly in 1797 and it fell to his son Josiah Spode II to continue and perfect his fathers developments. Spode II was appointed Potter to the Prince of Wales when the Prince Regent visited the factory in 1806. Josiah IIs china bodies, first Bone China and, from 1822, its derivative, Felspar Porcelain, outclassed all other contemporary English porcelains not just in terms of beauty but also of reliability of manufacture. Spodes Felspar Porcelain is recognised as the forerunner of all modern English Bone Chin. Beautiful hand painted Aynsley English bone china cup and saucer, pattern # 2539 in Robins egg blue with heavy gold trim. Dimensions: the cup is approximately 5-1/4″ wide including handle x 4-1/4″ in diameter x 2-3/8 tall (13.2 cm x 10.6 cm x 6.0 cm). Saucer measure 5-7/8 or 15 cm in diameter. There isn’t any shade! Note: There was a damaged, ugly shade on the lamp when I bought it, so I trashed it. Description: Please take note of the beautiful molded in relief scrolled pattern in photo 4! The China base of the lamp is 9 3/8″ tall, has a top diameter of 3 1/4″, and a bottom diameter of 4 3/8. The harp, including the final measures 11 1/2. The base color of the china is white and the edge trim is gold. The Pembroke pattern features blues, pink and orange flowers, green and blue leaves, brown stems and a blue & yellow bird. There is a fancy circular blue edge pattern. The distance from the top of the china base to the top of the final (this includes the electrical parts) is 12. The length of the cord is 6′ 3 and there is an on-off switch is in it. Up for your consideration is this beautiful, antique, English china, set of 3 trios. 3 tea cups, 3 coffee cups and 3 saucers. Pink, gold decoration, bows and flowers, gold gilded. Tea cups are 2 1/2″ tall, 3 1/4″ across the top, coffee cups are 2 7/8″ tall and 3″ across the top. Saucers are 5 1/2 in diameter, set weighs 1.105 kg. Excellent condition for it’s age, no chips, cracks or crazing, only 1 coffee cup with crazing in the base, pictures #10 and#11.
