Date Cypher for 1924. Pattern H3655, one of Minton’s famous “G” and “H” patterns of heavily gilded raised paste 22-karat gold porcelain plates. Made for Tiffany & Co New York (dinner plates and soup plates) and the Tilden-Thurber Co. Of Providence, Rhode Island (salad/dessert plates).
Offered is this elegant set of SIX fine porcelain china dinner plates made in England by Minton. The center of each plate features an elaborate hand-painted cluster of Dresden flowers, including roses, tulips and daisies. The artist signature J. Colclough appears near the flowers on each plate. A gold cartouche encircles the blossoms. The plates have wide gold encrusted rims of red or blue. Three plates have red rims and three plates have blue rims. The gilded designs on the rims resemble brocade. The underside base of each plate has been gilded. The mark X1025 appears on the bottom of the plates. The plates measure 10.5 inches in diameter (26.5 cm). Very good used condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. Gold trim in very good condition but does show very slight wear. The item will be insured.
