Beautiful Maitreya Buddha statue made of wucai porcelain with delicate 24k gold details, it embodies the essence of Buddhism and the joy of a happy smile. Originating from China in 1975, this statue is a rare find for collectors of Asian antiques. I bought this at an estate sale from a family that travelled to Hong Kong in 1975. It is marked with the dates of travel and year to “HK”, (I assume Hong Kong) on the bottom as well as a raised Gold maker mark that is unreadable. The statue is 5 inches tall and 5 inches wide. This stature was made in China during Moaist China and Red China, era. It is in excellent condition with 24kt gold paint all over. It does have a mark on the head but it looks to be part of the production process. There are no cracks or chips or crazing. There is slight small fading area on the side left shoulder on the gold trim about 1/4 inch. In all it is a beautiful piece.
