8 Decorative Gold Gilt Bowls

The listing is for ONE, 9 3/4″ bowl and SIX smaller, 5 1/8″ bowls. They are absolutely stunning in detail and color. The makers mark is of an M in the middle of a green wreath. The M stands for Morimura brothers, makers of fine porcelain in Japan. They are hand painted, and the colors were perfectly chosen to give these pieces such beauty. The burnt oranges, pale yellows and pinks, along with the mint green, sienna and bright blues go so well together. They all have gold gilt accents around the rim and within the designs giving the pieces texture and depth. The central floral medallions add a sophistication to each bowl. They are in excellent preowned condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. There is a little staining on the outside edge of the larger bowl, but nothing that detracts from its beauty. Also some wear on the underside of each bowl from use. I have taken pictures of each bowl for you to view. These are perfect to display on a credenza or in a curio. A very stunning antique set of Japanese porcelain in an optimum configuration.

Nippon Hand Painted Raised & Beaded Gold Floral Scrollwork & Cranberry Plate C Nice antique Japanese porcelain pearl mold plate with relief molded beading with gold gilding along the edge. Decorated with an cream, cranberry red, and raised scrollwork and beaded medallion in the center of the plate. Has an cream border with heavy raised gold floral scrollwork designs and beading, with cranberry red panels with gold gilt overlay. Unmarked, but probably made during the Nippon era of Japanese porcelain, circa 1891 to 1921. Has some wear to the gilding, and a small in manufacture stacking flake to the foot rim, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 8 5/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.

Nippon Hand Painted Purple Flowers Green Cobalt & Gold Large Bon Bon Dish. Nice antique Japanese large porcelain Monbijou shape bon bon dish. Decorated with a raised gold gilt and yellow floral medallion over green in the center with gold scrollwork overlay. Has hand painted purple and dark pink flowers with gold beading over the white. Cobalt blue border with gold scrollwork overlay. Gold gilding along the edge. Probably made during the Nippon era of Japanese porcelain, circa 1891 to 1921. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 11 1/2 inches long including the handle x 10 3/4 inches wide x 2 3/8 inches tall. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.

Nippon Porcelain 7.5 Gilded Berry Bowl & 8.75 Matched Plate, Roses

This listing is for a lovely Nippon berry bowl with matching under plate. The bowl and plate are decorated with colorful pink and ruby roses with green foliage. The design includes heavily gilded golden leaves, roses in gilt medallions and gilded flowers on a light and dark green background around the inside border. The rim is also gilded with a jeweled (beaded) band on the inside just below the rim. The lower body of the bowl has pierced drainage holes with gilded edges and sits above three gilded shell shaped feet. The plate is decorated with a design that matches the border design of the bowl and the bowl fits nicely on the plate. Although this mark has been reproduced, the new mark has “Nippon” printed with a diagonal slant and the leaf mark is 1/2″ high with the old leaf mark being only 1/4″ high. Bowl measures 2 3/4″ high and 7 1/2″ in diameter. Plate measures 1 1/4″ high and 8 3/4″ in diameter. Combined weight is 1.6 pounds. This nice berry set is in very good to excellent Estate condition with the only noted flaw being an oval rough spot on the outside of the bowl (see photos). The spot appears similar to a popped bubble in a glass item although it has an unusual look for porcelain. The gilding is bright and there is no noted wear to the painted roses with no scratches in the bottom of the plate. This set has a beautiful display appearance. An elegant antique 2 handled decorative cabinet plate. There’s a decoration in the center in gold. Beaded gold band towards the outer section. Then there’s pink and purple flowers with green and brown leaves. Light gold painted band. Then gold gilt and beading on the edge. Tiny gold wear on the tip of both gold handles.
