Size surface chip to side & a few light/ small scratches. No other issues noted. The hole in the bottom appears to have been placed through a mark. There is a hand written number “648” on bottom. Lovely antique china frozen Charlotte doll, gold slippers, blue garters incised 4

Offering this darling, rare antique, German china, “Frozen Charlotte”, (bathing) doll, circa 1880 , for your consideration. This charming model stands a little over 4 1/2 tall with beautiful black molded curly hair very detailed features including blue eyes, sweetly painted mouth and pretty cheek blush. She is incised on her back at the waist: 4 and has her arms outstretched in front of her with her palms facing down and legs apart wearing wonderful gold painted slippers with flat soles and lovely blue ribbon garters. What a darling doll for an antique dollhouse, doll room or display box. She has no damages or repairs, no stains or odors as she is from a smoke free home (some gold paint wear to her slippers). Other antique dolls shown are not included and will each be listed separately. THE DEPICTION IS OF NOT ONE BUT TWO DRAGONS PAINTED IN TRADITIONAL STYLE BOTH MEETING IN THE CENTER TO RETRIEVE THE FLAMING PEARL. THE PEAL BEING IN NOT ONLY FLAMING FORM BUT GOLD TRACED IS AMAZING. THE PORCELAIN IS OLDER SLIGHTLY TINTED TO A CLEAR CREAM OR GREYISH TONE THIS IS COMMON FOR OLDER PORCELAIN. MENTIONING THE GOLD YOU SEE MUCH USED BUT ONLY TO OUTLINE THE MOST IMPORTANT DETAILS OF THE VASE. THE DRAGONS AND THE PEARL MAINLY THEN THE ARTIST HAS LEFT THE CLOUDS, UPPER AND LOWER DECORATION RIBBON LIKE BANDS NATURAL IN COLOR. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO POINT OUT THE FACT OF THE FINE DETAIL IN THE DRAGONS, CLOUDS AND DECOR BANDS ARE OF TOP ARTISTRY. It’s a chine de commande dish but unusual because the central painting of a chinese person with a chinese person holding an artifact with a dragon in gilt. He is also holding a ruyi scepter. Very nicely decorated piece with good details. Red, Gold and Pink enamels. 18th century Qing period. Similar dish displayed in the Guangfu Museum Shanhai, check pictures. Rare type of decoration. Dating to around 1760. / / Overall Condition Restored part. These area was also repainted, we removed close to all new painting, now it is fully original.
