The entire body is coated in a deep black glaze with a jet-black, metallic tone. The surface displays golden-brown “hare’s-fur” patterns, finely defined and radiating naturally outward from the center of the bowl like flowing streaks of light. The interplay of black and gold creates a warm, refined metallic sheen, conveying a sense of rustic elegance and layered depth. Diameter: 12.2 cm. Height:7.1 cm. My collection of Jian Zhan (Chinese Tenmoku Tea Bowls) is rooted in a legendary cross-ocean story. In 1935, he traveled thousands of miles to Shuiji Town, Jianyang, Fujian-the site of the ancient Song Dynasty Jian Kilns. This act reintroduced the 800-year-old Jian Zhan to the Western world. This history marks the beginning of Jian Zhan’s global journey-and the inspiration for my collection. I moved to the United States in the 1990s and have been collecting fine Jian Zhan ever since. I aim to preserve the elegance of that golden era, with every piece embodying the profound legacy of Eastern civilization. All my pieces are authentic ancient kiln treasures, genuine in quality and perfect in condition. Welcome to explore the timeless beauty of Jian Zhan. This is an antique Jianzhan tea bowl. All photos are of the actual item, reflecting its true condition. Please carefully review all images and confirm the condition before placing an order. For any questions, feel free to inquire in advance.
