Vintage Blue Gold & White Asian Ceramic Garden Seat. Embossed Design from China. Would make a great gift for a special occasion or keep for yourself! We can therefore better control our acquisition costs, keep commission costs low (if applicable), and finally, we don’t have the overhead that the higher end houses and art galleries experience. Beautiful Garden Seat for you here. The garden seat has a white background that was done in a way to give it a crazed look for one to think the piece is older than it is. Then beautiful detailing in a dark blue and gold done over the sides and top. Vent holes on the sides and top of the seat. No cracks, chips, or repairs to the garden seat that we observe. A painted label on bottom that says “Made in China”. We would guess the piece dates to the 1970s to 1980s. Designs on side have an embossed section in the middle of the blue flowering. We just wash the pieces down that we acquire in soap and water, we do not attempt to deep clean them. Please see the pictures. Ecorated in 18th century motifs with an all-over pattern of peony and other. Flowers with grapes and pomegranates on a gold ground. The mille fleur motif is the background for the plate. “Thousand flowers design”, the mille fleur motif, usually on a gilt ground, first. The Double Ram Centred by a Vase within a square mark appears to be the Yang Chen Brand and is mid-century. In “Marks” by William Chaffers there are illustrated a number of animal marks dating roughly from the later Ming dynasty (16th/17th century) through to the 18th century. The point of the animals is that they are considered auspicious, & so bringers of good to the owners of such wares. The plate is 13.5 cm (8.5 inches) by 13.5 cm (8,5 inches) and is 2.5 cm (1 inch) high.
