Vintage 1960 Hand-Painted Porcelain Covered Compote, Pink Roses Gilt, Signed. Dimension: 5.75 x 5.75 x 5 inches (14.6 x 14.6 x 12.7cm). Vintage hand-painted porcelain covered compote / candy dish, dated 1960 and signed by the artist Dorothy R. Classic mid-century American “China Painting” – hand-painted floral decoration on blank porcelain, fired in a kiln, making each piece a unique one-of-a-kind artwork. The compote has a shallow wide bowl on a pedestal foot, with a domed lid topped by a tiered gold-gilt finial. The entire piece is hand-painted with pink roses and green leaves on a soft blue watercolor-wash background: a cluster of 4-5 roses on the lid, additional roses on the bowl exterior, and a single rose on the lid interior. Rim and lid edge trimmed in gold. The base bears a hand-written black ink signature: 1960 Dorothy R. Condition: Overall intact, no cracks or major chips. Gold trim on rim shows natural age wear. Hand-painted decoration is well-preserved. Please examine all photos carefully for condition details. A charming vintage hand-painted porcelain piece for collection or display. Masterfully hand painted English china lady cameo portait signed and titled ” Pomona ” by noted Doulton artist Frank N. Pomona was the Roman goddess of the harvest and fruit pruning especially associated with apples. Heavily gilded and tinted ornate border. Mark dates this piece to circa 1900. Size is about 9-3/4 inches wide. Condition is excellent with no chips or cracks. Only slight wear from gentle l use and minor original clay or glaze flaws as made originally.

Rare Sèvres, Manufacture Nationale de France, porcelain plate with extensive gilded decoration. The center features a gilt letter “C, ” surrounded by gilded flowers and insects around the border. The gilding is finished with fine burnishing to create remarkable detail. The rich blue ground closely resembles the pattern of lapis lazuli, a stone historically associated with royalty and known for its rarity and value. The underside bears. Incised initials (likely those of the molder). Incised date code “28-10, ” indicating it was molded on October 28. Gilder’s mark S. 48, denoting the date of gilding completion (the slight smudge visible is from the paint when marking; there is no actual scratch-verified under close inspection). Additional internal factory codes in green The plate is fully marked on the underside and dated 1848. It is also signed by the Gilder. Its exceptional workmanship would be worthy of a museum collection. Condition. First quality, minimal wear to the gilding. No damage or repair. Dimensions. Diameter: 6.15 inches wide and 1 inch high.

Painted in shades of yellow and brown. With gold gilding along the edge. Signed by the artist Leroux. Marked on the bottom Limoges U C France in green. This mark was used by Union Ceramique in Limoges France between 1909 and 1938. Has some wear to the gilding. Also has some ground spots to the back, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 12 7/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
