Vintage 1960 Hand-Painted Porcelain Covered Compote, Pink Roses Gilt, Signed. Dimension: 5.75 x 5.75 x 5 inches (14.6 x 14.6 x 12.7cm). Vintage hand-painted porcelain covered compote / candy dish, dated 1960 and signed by the artist Dorothy R. Classic mid-century American “China Painting” – hand-painted floral decoration on blank porcelain, fired in a kiln, making each piece a unique one-of-a-kind artwork. The compote has a shallow wide bowl on a pedestal foot, with a domed lid topped by a tiered gold-gilt finial. The entire piece is hand-painted with pink roses and green leaves on a soft blue watercolor-wash background: a cluster of 4-5 roses on the lid, additional roses on the bowl exterior, and a single rose on the lid interior. Rim and lid edge trimmed in gold. The base bears a hand-written black ink signature: 1960 Dorothy R. Condition: Overall intact, no cracks or major chips. Gold trim on rim shows natural age wear. Hand-painted decoration is well-preserved. Please examine all photos carefully for condition details. A charming vintage hand-painted porcelain piece for collection or display. Beautiful vintage Chinese porcelain covered jar featuring richly detailed famille rose / Rose Medallion-style decoration with court figures, birds, butterflies, flowers, fruit, and architectural scenes. The jar is extensively hand enameled, with raised enamel details, fine black outlining, colorful floral and figural decoration, and gilt accents. The fitted lid is equally elaborate, with a large figural courtyard scene across the top and floral decoration around the sides. The underside bears a six-character Qianlong reign mark in red, believed to be an apocryphal mark on a later vintage piece rather than an 18th-century Qianlong-period mark. Based on the decoration, construction, and mark, this piece is believed to date to approximately the mid-20th century. A particularly striking decorative piece with wonderful detail throughout. Measurements: Approximately 9″ tall with lid Approximately 5.5″ diameter Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear, including areas of wear/loss to the gilt and enamel decoration. There is one short hairline extending down from the upper rim, visible on the exterior. No corresponding crack is visible on the interior. Some discoloration and wear are present around the unglazed/contact surfaces, consistent with age and use. Stunning Large 10.5″H x 10″W Chinese Export Porcelain Covered Tureen – Ornate – Six character Yongzheng Mark. This is an exquisite hand-decorated porcelain soup or vegetable tureen. This piece features a classic footed silhouette with a domed lid and elegant side handles, finished in a rich “Imari” inspired palette. The interior is glazed, the lid is an unglazed biscuit porcelain. Design & Aesthetics. The tureen is beautifully decorated with vibrant floral panels featuring peonies (wealth, honor and prosperity) Lotus flowers (purity and longevity) and Ever ending vine. Tied together with deep cobalt blue borders and heavy gold (gilt) accents on the finial, handles, and trim, giving it a very regal and substantial presence. The underside features a hand-painted red six-character reign mark for Emperor Yongzheng. “Made during the Great Qing Dynasty under the reign of Emperor Yongzheng”. This is more likely an apocryphal mark (honoring the earlier period). Overall: Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Gilding: light wear/rubbing on the handles and finial.
