Each cup stands just under 2.5 inches tall, and the diameter of the opening at the top measures approximately 3.5 inches across. Hand painted onto the bottom of the plates, in gold, is: D. Studio”, along with the artists signature, “S. The signature is for Dominican Academy Studio, which was a group of Dominican nuns who resided in Fall River, Massachusetts, in the 1950’s to 1960’s, and who both painted and taught painting on china and limoges blanks that were imported from France. This Fall River convent was the first convent in the United States, for a group of Dominica Sisters who immigrated here from France. The artist who painted these plates is Sister Mary Carmel. The snack cup and saucer sets are in great vintage condition, with minimal soiling and wear, and no cracks, chips, scratches, stains, discoloration, repairs, nor any other damage that I can detect.
