This Antique Minton or other English origin Celeste Blue Ribbon & Gilded 10 Inch Plate c. 1810 is a stunning, hand painted plate with a 3 dimensional ribbon border and a center gilded gold medallion. The plate is marked with an impressed mark on the underside. See photo 15 for the best image. The mark resembles a squiggle. Measures 10.25 inches diameter. Very good condition with no damage or repairs. Gold loss on rim. One area of slight darkening to enamel on rim. A lovely and unique plate! Please take a look at many new items added daily. This seems to be a Greek style with gold underlays that almost seem like a cloisonne yet could be paint but has a Asian Chinese signature / stamp on the bottom. Rare Sèvres, Manufacture Nationale de France, porcelain plate with extensive gilded decoration. The center features a gilt letter “C, ” surrounded by gilded flowers and insects around the border. The gilding is finished with fine burnishing to create remarkable detail. The rich blue ground closely resembles the pattern of lapis lazuli, a stone historically associated with royalty and known for its rarity and value. The underside bears. Incised initials (likely those of the molder). Incised date code “28-10, ” indicating it was molded on October 28. Gilder’s mark S. 48, denoting the date of gilding completion (the slight smudge visible is from the paint when marking; there is no actual scratch-verified under close inspection). Additional internal factory codes in green The plate is fully marked on the underside and dated 1848. It is also signed by the Gilder. Its exceptional workmanship would be worthy of a museum collection. Condition. First quality, minimal wear to the gilding. No damage or repair. Dimensions. Diameter: 6.15 inches wide and 1 inch high.

The “Blue Rose” design was created in 1928 and has since become synonymous with Okura Art China. The design uses a technique called “Okazome, ” which creates soft blue colors and smooth gradations with beautiful gold trim on cups and saucers. Okura Art China is known for its high-quality, hard porcelain with an intense white color and a velvety surface. The design, first created in 1928, represents a “miracle” of making a blue rose bloom when it was thought to be impossible. The company’s chinaware has been used by the Japanese Imperial Household and for government events. All four pieces in very good condition – No chips, cracks, stir marks or crazing.
