Porcelaine de Paris Chinese Export Style Cobalt Pagoda Landscape Scene Plate B Nice vintage luncheon plate. Decorated in the Chinese Export style with a hand painted brown landscape scene with pagodas, trees and mountains in the center framed in gold with blue and gold leaves and butterfly around the center. Has a cobalt blue border with gold floral designs above red and gold scallops. Gold gilding along the edge. This has a red pseudo Asian mark on the base. This mark is commonly believed to have been used by Edme Samson, but was actually used by the company Porcelaine De Paris between 1949 and 1980. According to the book Samson, Genie de L’imitation by Florence Slitine, 2002, on page 182, these red pseudo-Chinese marks were not used by Samson, according to an M. Garcia who was the last house decorator for Samson. The book also states that these marks were used by the company Porcelaine de Paris according to a decorator, Mme. Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 8 inches wide. This is vintage and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.

Premium Bone China Porcelain Set of 6 x 10 dinner plates Russian Cobalt Blue Net pattern 24K gold plated accents Famous Lomonosov (reproduction) Inspired design 1:1 vintage reproduction Hand Wash Only recommended. Founded in 1744, the first porcelain factory in Russia was created by order of Empress Elizabeth, daughter of Peter the Great, to serve native trade and native art. The factory produced wares exclusively for the ruling Romanov family and the Russian Imperial court. Attempts to reveal the secret of hard paste true porcelain-making had expanded to Russia since the visit of Peter the Great to Saxony in 1718. Dmitry Ivanovich Vinogradov, a talented mining engineer who studied metallurgy at Freiberg, Saxony, invented the formula for the Russian porcelain works established in 1744. In 1925, on the occasion of the 200th jubilee of the Russian Academy of Science, the factory was given the name of the academy’s founder, Mikhail Lomonosov. It became known as the Leningrad Lomonosov Porcelain Factory which produced a range of wares, including collectible animal figurines and dinner sets. Bone china is the strongest of the porcelain or china ceramics, having very high mechanical strength and chip resistance, and is known for its high levels of whiteness and translucency. Its high strength allows it to be produced in thinner cross-sections than other types of porcelain. Bone china is a type of soft-paste porcelain that is composed of bone ash, feldspathic material, and kaolin. The first commercially widespread bone china was developed by the English potter Josiah Spode in the early 1790s. It has been defined as ware with a translucent body containing a minimum of 30% of phosphate derived from animal bone and calculated calcium phosphate.

Nice British bone china creamer. Decorated with hand painted pink, purple, white, and orange flowers. With cobalt border with gold grape vine. The book the Cabinet of Creamers attributes this form to Rathbone; however, I’ve been told Rathbone did not produce this form. Circa 1825 to 1830. Has some crazing typical of British porcelain and wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 6 1/4 inches wide from spout to handle x 4 inches tall. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.

Rosenthal Bavaria 10 Bouillon Cup/Bowl & 12 Saucers 1915 Cobalt Embellished Gold. This is a set of 10 bouillon soup bowls and 12 matching saucers made by Rosenthal in Germany. Each has a Cobalt Border with an embellished gold trim above and simple gold trim below. The center is white. They are marked 1915 (pattern number) but I do not know the pattern name. Each saucer measures 5 3/4 across. The bowls are 3 3/4″ across or 5 1/2″ from handle to handle. These have been well cared for and are from a local estate. I may have matching pattern pieces in other listings. Set is in Excellent, barely used if at all Condition with no chips, nicks or cracks. Please view the photos for a better description.
