Grainger Worcester 229 Hand Painted Cottage Landscape Yellow & Gold Plate A Nice antique early 19th century British bone china plate. Decorated with a pale yellow border with hand painted cottage, church, and a castle or abbey ruin with trees. With gold gilding along the edge and gold gilding and arched/scalloped gilding along the inner rim. Marked on the reverse Worcester in red script and also with the pattern number 229 in red. Probably Grainger, Lee & Co, Worcester. Circa 1814 to 1839. Has some wear consistent with age and use including some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition. Measures approximately 8 3/8 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece. Four 19th century Antique George Grainger Worcester Blue Willow Gold Gilt Dinner Plates Superb! Such a stunning set of plates! Rich chinoiserie blue willow pattern by Worcester George Grainger & Co. Plates have no damage. There is some wear to gold in spots but does not really detract from the beauty of these antique plates. Measure 10 1/4 inch diameter. One is marked with the written Graninger & Co. Worcester mark used from 1850 to 1880. The pattern is identical on all 4. Please view all the photos. The blue in this pattern is rich and vibrant.
