

Stunning Large 10.5″H x 10″W Chinese Export Porcelain Covered Tureen – Ornate – Six character Yongzheng Mark. This is an exquisite hand-decorated porcelain soup or vegetable tureen. This piece features a classic footed silhouette with a domed lid and elegant side handles, finished in a rich “Imari” inspired palette. The interior is glazed, the lid is an unglazed biscuit porcelain. Design & Aesthetics. The tureen is beautifully decorated with vibrant floral panels featuring peonies (wealth, honor and prosperity) Lotus flowers (purity and longevity) and Ever ending vine. Tied together with deep cobalt blue borders and heavy gold (gilt) accents on the finial, handles, and trim, giving it a very regal and substantial presence. The underside features a hand-painted red six-character reign mark for Emperor Yongzheng. “Made during the Great Qing Dynasty under the reign of Emperor Yongzheng”. This is more likely an apocryphal mark (honoring the earlier period). Overall: Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Gilding: light wear/rubbing on the handles and finial.
